Are You a White Guy?

Ask yourself this question every time you open your mouth

In case you couldn’t tell by my profile picture I am, in fact, a white guy and like most of us, I have a lot of opinions.

Naturally, I have opinions about owning homes (I don’t own one yet) and education (I’m not a teacher) and of course I have thoughts about raising children (my wife and I haven’t had kids…yet).

Thanks to my ripe old age of 33 and more trial-and-error than I care to admit, I’ve learned a valuable lesson:

The world doesn’t always need these opinions.

I know, I know. If you we don’t share our opinions, how will people know how smart we are? How will they know what we think?

Guess what?

They don’t need to know.

As much as we may want to help, people might not need to be told to “think differently” or “pursue your passion” or “invest in crypto.”

The lives of others may be completely fine without us saying a single word.

In other words, not every conversation has to be a teachable moment.

I want you do to me a favor. Think about the last time you said one of these three things to someone else, out loud:

  1. I’m not sure.
