How To Start Your Freelance Business Now
These days, over 35% of the workforce in America is freelance and that number is growing. Companies are starting to understand the value of working with freelancers and individuals are taking control of their professional lives.
Even with this forward momentum, there still exists a stigma that owning your own professional life is a pipe dream. Too many people feel they are stuck in their situation because of responsibility, debt, or any number of other reasons. After countless coffee meetings with people asking how to establish their own freelance business, I decided to do something about it.
I started OpenStudio. After making the decision to freelance directly out of college, I made the conscious choice to capture the process as I was experiencing it so that I could eventually help others. After 6+ years of developing my own freelance business, the time has finally come.
In developing OpenStudio, I’ve combined helpful reference materials like client document templates, actionable resources broken down by categories, and one-on-one attention to help adapt to the individual needs of others.
Below are the three freelance packages (for now). I’ll continue to update and add to these resources. Take a look and let me know if you’re interested in learning more!

- Client document templates (Illustrator + PDF)
- Freelance e-book: How To Start Your Freelance Business Now
- OpenStudio: Community on Slack with categorized resource list
