Make the leap, with eyes wide open
Over the past decade, I’ve worked what I call the “trifecta of tech careers” — I’ve freelanced full-time as an experience designer, founded a tech company, and now work as a full-time tech consultant.
If you’re reading this, then there’s a good chance you’re considering a career in tech yourself. After doing some digging online, you might still be a little iffy about making the leap.
If you’re anything like me, then you’re also a fan of a good ‘ol fashioned pros and cons list, which is why I decided to make (you guessed it) a pros and cons list!
My goal is to help you enter the tech industry with eyes wide open and that means sharing both the highs and lows:
Pro 1: Constant change and growth
Thanks to the insane speed of technology, there will always be a need to understand it and help others keep up. If you are someone who’s curious and thrives on lifelong learning, I can’t think of a better career that will stretch and push you more. The moment you think you understand a technology, it changes and morphs into something else.
